The solution to (21x) - (-16 + 7x) is 14x + 16

Solution:

Given that (21x) - (-16 + 7x)

We have to evaluate the given expression

Let's look at the given expression

(21x) - (-16 + 7x)

Multiply the terms within second bracket with minus sign

There are two simple rules to remember:

 • When you multiply a negative number by a positive number then the product is always negative.
 • When you multiply two negative numbers or two positive numbers then the product is always positive

⇒ (21x) + 16 - 7x

Removing the parenthesis

⇒ 21x + 16 - 7x

Combining the like terms,

⇒ 14x + 16

Thus the solution is 14x + 16

What is the equation of a line with a slope of -1/2 and passes through the point (6,-6)
Vlad [161]
Well I am going to assume you need slope-intercept form. So the equation is y=mx+b. m is slope, b is y intercept. So you just plug it in -6= -1/2(6)+b. -6=-3+b. Now you figure out for b so what does b have to be to make the equation equal. Well -3 so -6=-3+-3, or -6=-6.

y=-1/2x-3

Evan is making a table that will be created in the shape of the figure below. The table top is a triangle attached to a rectangl
Yakvenalex [24]
Given:
Triangle:
height = 6ft
base = 4ft

Rectangle:
length = x
Width = 6 ft

Surface Area = 150ft²

Area of a Triangle = h*b / 2 = (6ft * 4ft) / 2 = 12ft²

Area of a rectangle = Surface Area - Area of a Triangle
A = 150 ft² - 12 ft² = 138 ft²

138 ft² = x * 6ft
138 ft² / 6 ft = x
23 ft = x.

Hose is 32 feet long 32 feet long it needs to be cut into pieces equaling 5’3” How many whole pieces can be cut into how many wh
luda_lava [24]

Answer:

6

Step-by-step explanation:

Question tests the ability to get quotient

Here, 32 ft is divided by 5’3”

Normally, ft is denoted by ' while inches is denoted by ". So we divide 32 ft by 5ft and 3 inches

First, we convert dimensions into similar units. To convert 5’3” to ft, we divide 3” by 12 hence 3÷12=0.25'

The total is now 5.25'

Now

32'÷5.25'=6.1538461538461

This means, we shall obtain 6 whole pieces with some remainder. Since the question needs the whole pieces only, then the answer is 6
