City life is very busy, fast and challenging. In addition, living in urban areas exposes us to a lot of pollution and noise and all of this affects our physical and mental health, often in a bad way. As life in rural and suburban areas tends to be quieter, people in these areas tend to have fewer problems, but city life can lead to high levels of stress, mood disorders and psychotic illness.
Not only that, city stress and exhausting routines contribute to less exercise and more industrialized foods: increased diabetes, hypertension, and depression.
For research, the observation method was used. The researchers took into account a variety of data: recording animal behavior on a camera, fecal samples that give an idea of nutrition, artifacts made by monkeys, complex transect (that is, on a special rectangular plot of land) studies, and so on.
