The answer is 87
For this problem, the method I used was more of a guess and check because I simply plugged the options into a calculator to see which one would be closest a little bit past 9.3 but not all the way 9.4
the square root of 87 is 9.32 so you would round down while the square root of 88 is 9.38 which would round up
Hope this helps :)

A^2 + b^ = c^2
c is the longest side of the triangle
a and b are the other two sides
So the given are the hypotenuse leg, and one of the other legs
So
a= ?
b= 12
c= 14
a^2+12^2=14^2
a^2+144=196
-144 -144
a^2=52
So we find the square root of 52
Which is 7.211 which you can round to 7.21 or 7.2
Answer:
Option C. 144 square inches is the correct answer.
Step-by-step explanation:
We have been given a square with one side with a measurement of 1 foot and we have to calculate the area in square inches.
First we know that 1 foot of length = 12 inches on scale
Therefore side of the square is 12 inches
Now the area of the square will be = (Side×Side) = (Side)²
= (12)² = 144 square inches.
So the area of the square will be 144 square inches.
Two angles are said to be supplement when their measure add up to 180 degrees.
Assume that the angle we are looking for is a and its supplement is s (I used s instead of x).
a + s = 180
a = 180 - s ......> equation I
We know that the measure of the angle is eight times greater than its supplement.
This means that:
a = 8s ......> equation II
Substitute by equation II in equation I to get s as follows:
180 - s = 8s
180 = 9s
s = 20 degrees
Substitute in equation I to get the measure of the angle as follows:
a = 180 - s = 180 - 20 = 160 degrees
Based on these calculations:
The measure of the angle is 160 degrees
The measure of its supplement is 20 degrees
