Answer:

Part A) Yes , the triangles are congruent

Part B) The side-angle-side (SAS) theorem

Part C) The perimeter of  ∆PQR is 17\ ft

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1

we know that

The side-angle-side (SAS) theorem, states that: If two sides and the included angle of one triangle are equal to two sides and the included angle of another triangle, the triangles are congruent.

so in this problem

Traingle PQR and Triangle STU are congruent by the SAS Theorem

because

m<PQR=m<STU -------> included angle

PQ=TS

QR=TU

Step 2

<u>Find the value of y</u>

we know that

If the triangles are congruent

then

The corresponding sides are equal

so

PR=SU

substitute

(3y-2)=(y+4)

(3y-y)=(2+4)

(2y)=(6)

y=3\ ft

PR=3y-2=3(3)-2=7\ ft

SU=y+4=(3)+4=7\ ft

so

PR=SU

Step 3

Find the perimeter  ∆PQR

Remember that

The perimeter of  ∆PQR is equal to the perimeter  ∆STU

The perimeter is equal to

P=PQ+QR+PR

substitute the values

P=4+6+7=17\ ft

The management of a restaurant with locations all over the country has developed a new hamburger that researchers believe will s
Sliva [168]

Using sampling concepts, it is found that the best way to perform a randomized experiment with the goal of determining if this new hamburger will sell better than the hamburger that is currently sold is as follows:

Randomly select 40 restaurants, let each one decide if it wants to sell the new hamburger, and compare sales in those restaurants to sales in the restaurants that chose not to sell the new hamburger.

<h3>What is sampling?</h3>

It is is a common statistics practice, when we want to study something from a population, we find a sample of this population.

For example:

I want to estimate the proportion of New York state residents who are Buffalo Bills fans. So i ask, lets say, 1000 randomly selected New York state residents whether they are Buffalo Bills fans, and expand this to the entire population of New York State residents.

In this problem, a sample of randomly selected restaurants should be taken to sell the new hamburger, and then be compared with the ones who sell the old hamburger to see if sales increased, hence the correct option is:

Randomly select 40 restaurants, let each one decide if it wants to sell the new hamburger, and compare sales in those restaurants to sales in the restaurants that chose not to sell the new hamburger.

Lin counts 5 bacteria under a microscope. She counts them again each day for four days, and finds that the number of bacteria do
Liula [17]

Answer:

The population of bacteria can be expressed as a function of number of days.

Population = \[5*2^{n-1}\] where n is the number of days since the beginning.

Step-by-step explanation:

Number of bacteria on the first day=\[5 * 2^{0} = 5\]

Number of bacteria on the second day = \[5 * 2^{1} = 10\]

Number of bacteria on the third day = \[5*2^{2} = 20\]

Number of bacteria on the fourth day = \[5*2^{3} = 40\]

As we can see , the number of bacteria on any given day is a function of the number of days n.

This expression can be expressed generally as \[5*2^{n-1}\] where n is the number of days since the beginning.

Nina walked 15 yards to Paul's house. They then went hiking. Which rule shows how many yards Nina walks for every yard Paul walk
denis-greek [22]
N= x+15 where n = nina, x = the amount hiked together and the 15 is how much she already walked.
