Type the correct answer in each box. Spell all words correctly, and use numerals instead of words for numbers. If necessary, use

decimals instead of fractions. Waylan has two cardboard boxes that are rectangular prisms. Each cardboard box has the same height, h, but the square bases of each cardboard box have different side measurements, w. He wants to find the amount of space, S, inside each box. Considering that each box has a square base, he decides to use the formula below for his calculation. The square base on Box A has a side measurement of 2 feet, and the square base on Box B has a side measurement of 0.75 of a foot. Each box has a height of 4 feet. Box A contains cubic feet of space, and Box B contains cubic feet of space. Box A contains cubic feet more space than Box B. NextReset

Given:
2 rectangular prism.
same height
square bases

                                    Box A     Box B
Square Base side 2 ft 0.75 ft
Height                            4 ft        4 ft

Solving for the space inside each rectangular prism, we need to find its volume.

Volume of a rectangular prism = length * width * height

Box A:
Volume = 2 ft * 2 ft * 4 ft = 16 cubic feet

Box B:
Volume = 0.75 ft * 0.75 ft * 4 ft = 2.25 cubic feet

Box A - Box B = difference in space

16 cubic feet - 2.25 cubic feet = 13.75 cubic feet

Box A contains 13.75 cubic feet more space than Box B.

Walter invests $12,000, part at 7% annual interest and part at 8.5% annual interest. How much is invested at each rate if Reggie
MAXImum [283]

Answer:

for 7% , $8,000

for 8.5%, $4,000

Step-by-step explanation:

Key amount at 7% be x and amount at 8.5% be y

Mathematically;

x + y = 12,000 ••••••(i)

Let’s now work

with the interest;

7% of x + 8.5% of y = 900 ••••••(ii)

0.07x + 0.085y = 900

So we have two equations to solve simultaneously

From 1, x = 12,000-y

Substitute this into ii

0.07(12000-y) + 0.085y = 900

840-0.07y + 0.085y = 900

0.015y = 900-840

0.015y = 60

y = 60/0.015

y = 4000

x = 12000-4000

x = $8,000

80 gallons turned into kilograms
zubka84 [21]
80 gallons turned into kilograms is 302.8 kilograms.
Explanation:
1 gallon = 3.785 kg
80 * 3.785 kg = 302. 8
Another explanation:
80 gallons = 302.8 liters
1 liter = 1 kilogram
302.8 * 1 kg = 302.8 kg

Cos (A+B) =1/5
COS (A-B) = 3/5
Then find tan (A-B)
Soloha48 [4]

Answer:

tan (A-B) = ± 4/3

Step-by-step explanation:

COS (A-B) = 3/5

COS² (A-B) = (3/5)² = 9/25 = 1 - sin² (A-B)

sin² (A-B) = 1 - 9/25 = 16/25

sin (A-B) = ± 4/5

tan (A-B) = sin (A-B) / cos (A-B) = (± 4/5) / (3/5) = ± 4/3
