2nd term  = first term + 5
-8 = a1 + 5

first term (a1) = -8+5 = -13

6th term = a1 + 5d
              = - 13 + 5(5)
              =  12  answer

The arithmetic series 15+18+21+...+84+87 has how many terms?
bearhunter [10]

We can use the general term of the arithmetic series. Look:

\mathsf{a_n=a_1+(n-1)\cdot r}

Where:

\mathsf{a_1}: first term, 15.

\mathsf{a_n}: last term, 87.

n: number of terms (what we looking for);

r: reason, which is equal to the difference between two terms, that is, 3.

Let's go to the calculations.

\mathsf{a_n=a_1+(n-1)\cdot r}\\\\ \mathsf{87=15+(n-1)\cdot3}\\\\ \mathsf{87-15=(3n-3)}\\\\ \mathsf{72=3n-3}\\\\ \mathsf{72+3=3n}\\\\ \mathsf{75=3n}\\\\ \mathsf{n=\dfrac{75}{3}=25}

There are 25 terms.

Algebra is a universal language used in communicating ideas, and it therefore improves how people can teach or learn ideas from others

<h3>What is algebra?</h3>

Algebra is the mathematics representation of ideas, problems, situation or solutions using mathematical expressions.

Algebra makes use of numbers, variables, and operators to give value or convey information.

Algebra is therefore an indispensable communication tool that is used in all walks of life to improve understanding of disseminated information, from the original source, to the intended destination and beyond, without, losslessly losing any substance, value or understanding.

With algebra, a doctor speaking a foreign language in a remote location can perform complex and emergency operational procedures based on guidance from another doctor communicating through the internet to his exact location and a local robot that is able translate verbal information into action based on algebraic relationships.

Algebra allows the foreign doctor to obtain or look for specific health metrics and indicators.

It allows the foreign doctor to understand the cost implications as well as to avoid dangerous situations and risk factors which are best specified by algebraic relation, that is understandable to all languages, given that it is based on numbers and variables.

Algebra therefore is one of the main means through which one person can teach another or communicate ideas.

(-3)^3(2^6)/(-3)^5(2)^2=(2)^a/(-3)^b=c/d<br> What are the values of a,b,c,and d
andreyandreev [35.5K]

Answer:

See below in bold.

Step-by-step explanation:

(-3)^3(2^6)/(-3)^5(2)^2

= (-3)^(3-5)*(2^4)

= 2^4 / (-3)^2   so  a = 4 and b = 2.

2^4 / (-3)^2

= 16/9    so c = 16 and d = 9.
