If x+3y=-2 and 2x-6y=-8, which of the following equation is true?
rjkz [21]
Your answer is B) 12y = 4

You can find this by first rearranging the equation x + 3y = -2 to the form ‘x =‘:
x = -2 - 3y.

Then you can substitute this into the second equation, 2x - 6y = -8, and expand and solve:
2(-2 - 3y) - 6y = -8
-4 - 6y - 6y = -8
-12y = -4

Now because we know that -12y = -4, this is equivalent to 12y = 4, which is option B.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions :)

Can someone plz help me solved this problem I need help plz help me! Will mark you as brainiest!
I am Lyosha [343]

Answer:

13 l of 15%, 13 l of 25%, 26 l of 70%

Step-by-step explanation:

solutions:

  • 15%, 25% and 70%

final solution:

  • 52 l of 45%

This includes 0.45*52l= 23.4 l acid

Let's assume:

  • amount of 15% solution= x
  • amount of 25% solution= y
  • amount of 70% solution= z
  • and we have z=2y

so there are 2 equation:

  • x+y+z=52
  • 0.15x+0.25y+0.7z=23.4

or

  • x+y+2y= 52 ⇒ x+3y= 52 ⇒ x= 52- 3y
  • 0.15x+0.25y+1.4y=23.4
  • 0.15x+1.65y=23.4
  • 0.15*(52-3y)+1.65y=23.4
  • 7.8-0.45y+1.65y=23.4
  • 1.2y=23.4-7.8
  • 1.2y= 15.6
  • y=15.6/1.2
  • y= 13 l

--------

  • x= 52- 3*13= 13 l
  • z= 2y= 2*13= 26 l

A cashier has 30 bills, all of which are $10 or $20 bills. The total value of the money is $460. How many of each type of bill d
Andru [333]

Answer:

$10 bill = 14 and  $20 bill = 16.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given  : A cashier has 30 bills, all of which are $10 or $20 bills. The total value of the money is $460.

To find :  How many of each type of bill does the cashier have.

Solution : We have given that

A cashier has 30 bills

Let bill of $10  = x .

Bill of $20 = y .

Money of  $10  = 10x .

Money of  $20  = 20y.

Total bill

x + y = 30-------(1)

10x + 20y = 460-----(2)

On multiplying equation 1 by 10 and subtracting from equation 2.

10x + 20 y = 460

(-)10x +(-) 10 y =  (-)300

______________

0  +  10 y = 160 .

On dividing  by 10

y  = 16 .

Plug y = 16 in equation 1

x + 16  = 30

On subtracting both sides by 16.

x = 30 - 16.

x  = 14

Therefore, $10 bill = 14 and  $20 bill = 16.
