I think the answer is quench.
Answer: The sun, as used in this scene, is intended to symbolize that truth has finally triumphed, even in the face of death. It becomes apparent that these men and women have nobly and stoically concluded that one thing in life is more important than life itself: truth.
Explanation:
That woman that looks at herself in the mirror for long minutes is very vain. Vain means excessively proud of one's appearence so when someone spends too much time in a mirror, they are considered vain. I have seen this in my daily life because so many women and men spend too much time in front of a mirror just looking at themeselves not even fixing up.
I think it could happen because the girl (don't remember their names sorry) snuck onto the ship where she wasn't supposed to go. Obviously if you do something wrong, no necessarily sneaking onto a spaceship, there are always consequences. The man did try to save her life, but there wasn't much he could do because it was too late for both of them to survive.
