Eventhough family and school are crucial in our early stage as we grow up but mass media tends to be more influential. Mass media helps me develop my public opinion on particular political issues and they share and analyse what is happening in politics. I get to see the law concerning certain issues such as drug abuse and abortion, by knowing what our laws state about these issues it gives me an idea of where I stand politically and gives me an opportunity to generate my own opinion.
FAMILY
This is where our initial political ideas develop. Since from growing up you can hear mom and dad making random remarks about political stuff and where they stand with it , eventhough these are just random casual remarks by they stuck with you until adulthood. It actual may be an influence on how I vote for certain political parties.
One of the reasons is corruption: Nigeria is unfortunately very corrupt. One estimate for example is that Nigeria lost 400 billion dollars to corruption during the time of being an independent state!
