In each of the following situations, the sampling frame does not match the population, resulting in undercoverage. Give examples

of population members that might have been omitted. (a) The population consists of all 250 students in your large statistics class. You plan to obtain a simple random sample of 30 students by using the sampling frame of students present next Monday. (Select all that apply.) Students who are skipping class cannot be sampled. Students who are on a school trip cannot be sampled. Dropouts cannot be sampled. Students who are not taking statistics cannot be sampled. Students who are out sick cannot be sampled. Home-schooled students cannot be sampled. (b) The population consists of all 15-year-olds living in the attendance district of a local high school. You plan to obtain a simple random sample of 200 such residents by using the student roster of the high school as the sampling frame. (Select all that apply.) Students who are skipping class cannot be sampled. Students who are out sick cannot be sampled. Home-schooled students cannot be sampled. Students who are on a school trip cannot be sampled. Dropouts cannot be sampled.

Answer:

a)

Students who are skipping class cannot be sampled

Students Who are on a school trip cannot be sampled

Students who are out sick cannot be sample

b)

Dropouts cannot be sampled

Home-schooled students cannot be sampled

Step-by-step explanation:

a)

The population members that might be omitted from sampling frame consists of students who are skipping class, students on a trip and students that are sick because population includes all the students in statistics class.

The dropouts are already out of population and home-schooled are also not a part of population and we are only interested in statistics class so, the students who are not taking the statistics class cannot represent the under coverage of sampling frame

b)

The under coverage sampling frame in this scenario represents by dropouts and home-schooled students because we are taking sampling frame by student roaster of  high school.

The student who sick,on a trip and skip class can be found in student roaster so, they don't represent under coverage of sampling frame.

Hey!
The answer would be (4,8)
You separate the inequalities first
-2x + 6>-10
-2x + 6<-2
Then you solve the inequalities
X<8
X>4
Then find the intersection
(4,8)
And there you go! Hope this helps!

I need help with creating some equations for an assignment. These are the types of equations I need:
kondor19780726 [428]
Hi there!

Here are some examples for you:

Two one step equations:
6x = 36
y + 5 = 10

Two equations containing fractions:
1/2x = 4
3/4y + 1 = 8

One equation using the distributive property:
2(x + 5) = 3

One equation with a decimal:
2.5x + 5 = 10

One real world problem that is solved by an equation:
At the beginning, I had 5 cups of flour. I made a batch of cookies. Now, I have 3.5 cups of flour. How much flour did I use?
5 - x = 3.5

Hope this helps!! :)
If there's anything else that I can help you with, please let me know!
