Which of these lines from "Anecdote of the Jar" by Wallace Stevens best exemplifies how the jar impedes nature's ability to flou

rish?
I placed a jar in Tennessee,
And round it was, upon a hill.

It made the slovenly wilderness
Surround that hill.

The wilderness rose up to it,
And sprawled around, no longer wild.

The jar was round upon the ground
And tall and of a port in air.

Answer:

The wilderness rose up to it, }

And sprawled around, no longer wild.

Anecdote of the Jar by Wallace Stevens is a poem that communicates, through the account of "a container" and "a slope," the dynamic overwhelming of industry over nature. In the last stanza, that overwhelming is uncovered to be a miserable and foolish prospect since Stevens' correlations clarify that he trusts nature is unmistakably more wonderful than industry will ever be.

While there are different clarifications that could be connected to this sonnet, the core of the plot is an impression of this silliness, making the three-stanzas a joined mourn of the neglecting of nature for what was misconstrued as improvement.

Of the two central characters, the adjutant and Timothy Lean, which man appears to be more "calm and collected?" Defend your ans
lutik1710 [3]
I think Timothy Lean appears more "calm and collected" than the adjutant. Though he did not like doing things he had to do, he performed them well. He searched the corpse to look for his things. He lifted the body, with the help of the adjutant, and laid it on the grave. He said a little prayer over the grave. He continued covering the grave with dirt after the private got shot. He covered the upturned face with earth to completely bury the dead.
