Lisa and Daisy work at a hair salon. The salon charges $18 for a hair styling session with Lisa and $12 for a session with Daisy

. The income on a certain day is projected to be $216. This situation can be represented by the equation 18x + 12y = 216, where x is the number of Lisa's customers and y is the number of Daisy's customers. How many customers would Lisa need to serve to attain the projected income if Daisy calls in sick that day?

Since Daisy is sick we won't need the 12y in the equation. That leaves us with 18x = 216 which represents Daisy's work for the day.

Simply solve for x.
18x = 216
18x/18 = 216/18
x = 12

So Daisy would need to work with 12 customers in order to reach the average income for a day without Lisa's help.

Check: 18(12) = 216

You would want to divide 216 by 18 and by doing that you would get 12.

Nikolay [14]

Answer: 54.29%

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: The probability that they  will win both games is 38%.

i.e. P( both games will win) =0.38

The probability that they will win just the first game is  70%.

P(first game will win) = 0.70

To find : P(second game will win| first game will win)

Using formula: P(B|A)=\dfrac{P(\text{both A and B})}{P(A)}

So, P(second game will win| first game will win) = \dfrac{\text{ P( both games will win)}}{\text{P(first game will win)}}

=\frac{0.38}{0.70}\approx0.5429=54.29\%

Hence, the required probability = 54.29%

Ethan bought 3 pints of raspberries for $5 per pint and x pints of blueberries for $3 per pint. The average
bagirrra123 [75]

The y-intercept represents the average cost, in dollars per pint, of all the raspberries Ethan bought. Therefore, option B is the correct answer.

Given that, Ethan bought 3 pints of raspberries for $5 per pint and x pints of blueberries for $3 per pint.

The average is (15 + 3x)/(3+x) per pint.

We need to find what quantity will be represented by the y-intercept of the graph.

<h3>How to find the y-intercept of the graph?</h3>

Since the y-intercept always has a corresponding x-value of 0, replace x with 0 in the equation and solve for y. On a graph, the y-intercept can be found by finding the value of y when x=0. This is the point at which the graph crosses through the y-axis.

Now, the graph of y=(15 + 3x)/(3+x)is given below.

To find the x-intercept, substitute in 0 for y and solve for x. To find the y-intercept, substitute in 0 for x and solve for y.

x-intercept(s): (−5,0)

y-intercept(s): (0,5)

So, the y-intercept represents the average cost, in dollars per pint, of all the raspberries Ethan bought.

Therefore, option B is the correct answer.
