Why did you join the club? (question mark)

She knew that. (period)

Biology is the study of life. (period)

Is the concert on Friday or Saturday? (question mark)

Stop that immediately! or . (exclamation mark or period)

That is ridiculous! or . (exclamation mark or period)

When are you stopping by again? (question mark)

The forecast is for rain all afternoon. (period)

We use question marks at the end of sentences that as a question. These sentences will likely start with who, what, when, where, why, how, or do. A sentence that simply states a statement will end in a period. We can use exclamation points when we want to emphasize something. They would be appropriate in a couple sentences, but you could also simply use a period. They are both correct.

Write a letter to the minister of religious and chieftain telling him or her the causes of indiscipline among the youth and poss
bulgar [2K]

Answer:

Claudius directs Gertrude to try to learn the cause of Hamlet’s odd behavior; they suspect it is the old king’s

death and their own recent marriage. Meantime, Claudius and Polonius eavesdrop on Ophelia and Hamlet,

who spurns her and appears mad. The King reveals to Polonius his plan to send Hamlet to England with

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern.

Hamlet seizes the opportunity presented by a traveling troupe of players to expose the King’s guilt with a

“play within a play.” Soon after, Hamlet delays killing Claudius because the King is at prayer, and Hamlet

does not wish to send him to heaven instead of hell. When Gertrude meets with Hamlet as Claudius has

directed, Polonius hides behind the arras in Gertrude’s room to eavesdrop on the conversation. Hamlet,

suspecting the interloper is Claudius, stabs and kills Polonius.

Marta_Voda [28]

<u>Correction To the Question</u>

  • The dimensions of the 6 blocks stacked are \frac{1}{2}X1X1
  • The dimensions of the 9 blocks stacked are \frac{1}{3}X1X1.

Answer:

  • (A)Six of the one-half cubes would have a volume of 3 cubic units.
  • (D)Three of the one-third cubes will make 1 unit cube.
  • (E)Two of the one-half cubes will make 1 unit cube.
  • (F)Both stacks will have a volume of 3 cubic units.

Explanation:

Marissa claims that stacking 6 blocks with dimensions of \frac{1}{2}X1X1 will give the same volume as stacking 9 blocks with dimensions of \frac{1}{3}X1X1.

First, we examine the volume of each block.

<u>Block 1</u>

The dimensions are: \frac{1}{2}X1X1

Volume of 1 block =\frac{1}{2}X1X1=\frac{1}{2} \:cubic\:units

Volume of 6 blocks of dimension =6 X \frac{1}{2} =3 \:cubic\:units

<u>Block 2</u>

The dimensions are: \frac{1}{3}X1X1

Volume of 1 block =\frac{1}{3}X1X1=\frac{1}{3} \:cubic\:units

Volume of 9 blocks of dimension =9 X \frac{1}{3} =3 \:cubic\:units

The following statements out of her claim are true:

  • (A)Six of the one-half cubes would have a volume of 3 cubic units.
  • (D)Three of the one-third cubes will make 1 unit cube.
  • 3X\frac{1}{3} =1\:cubic\:unit
  • (E)Two of the one-half cubes will make 1 unit cube.
  • 2X\frac{1}{2} =1\:cubic\:unit
  • (F)Both stacks will have a volume of 3 cubic units.
