Vampire novels, horror films and magical wonderlands are the popular culture for today's teens. Millions of dollars are spent on

entertainment to find out more about Jason, Shrek, and Bella, just to name a few. However, Harry was not the first to wow teens with his slight of hand. Which universal theme topic links Dr. Heidegger's Experiment with the popular teenage culture of today?

Answer:

The theme of the supernatural.

Explanation:

The popular culture of teenagers in today's world is more on the supernatural side. Dr. Heidegger's Experiment" by Nathaniel Hawthorne talks of the three friends and their greed for becoming younger again even at the cost of travelling to far places, while the narrator himself decided he's learnt a lesson after seeing how his friends react to the magic of the "Water of Youth". Everything that is against the natural order of things, be it a blood sucking vampire, or a wizard or superheroes, all are more and more increasing in the interests of youths. Gone are the days when real-life based movies or stories captivate audiences. These days, they prefer what is out of the world, what is fantasy, all the "what ifs" of the world. The world of fantasy and imagination has taken over the interest of the teens.
