Jessica has $25 to buy 4 new pairs of socks

So the money she spends towards each pair of socks is \frac{25}{4}

So each pair of socks would cost $6.25

Hence if the cost equation for x , where x is the number of socks

c(x) = 6.25x

the cost of one pair mulitplied by the number of pairs needed

A line passes through the origin and has a slope of -3 what is the equation of the line that is perpendicular to the first line
Marianna [84]

Answer: y=\frac{1}{3}x+3

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of the line is Slope-intercept form is:

y=mx+b

Where "m" is the slope and "b" the y-intercept.

The slopes of perpendicular lines are negative reciprocal.

Then, if the slope of the first line is -3, the slope of the other line must be:

m=\frac{1}{3}

Substitute the point (3,4) into the equation and solve for b:

4=\frac{1}{3}(3)+b\\ 4-1=b\\b=3

Then the equation of this line is:

y=\frac{1}{3}x+3

Molodets [167]

Answer:

17.5

Step-by-step explanation:

According to the study 70% of the internet searches used Google as search engine.

Thus if the event X is the proportion of the searches using Google engine, then expected value of the event X, E(X) = 0.7

From here we can find the expected number of internet searches of a sample of 25 people by multiplying  25 and 0.7, i.e 25*0.7=17.5
