That’s because they have perspectives that affect how they think and what they believe. However, good historians use a variety of sources to make sure their arguments are based on facts and sound evidence.

The term historiography is composed from the terms "history" (which comes from the Greek and means research) and "spelling" (which also comes from the Greek and means writing). Thus, the name itself already contains the clearest meaning of the expression, that is, "writing a research" or "research that needs a written form, a narrative". Briefly: a writing of history.

Historiography has the importance of allowing different interpretations of the historians, based on the different perspectives that they have of a same historical fact. Even with different perspectives, historians use different sources of research, when historiographing something, to get true and accurate information for their research, even if this information differs from their perspective.
