Three vertices of a parallelogram are shown in the figure below. Give the coordinates of the fourth vertex.
topjm [15]

Given:

The three vertices of a parallelogram are (-3,8), (4,5), (2,-5).

To find:

The fourth vertex of the parallelogram.

Solution:

Let the vertices of the parallelogram are A(-3,8), B(4,5), C(2,-5) and D(a,b).

We know that, diagonals of a parallelogram bisect each other. It means midpoints of both diagonals are same.

Midpoint formula:

Midpoint=\left(\dfrac{x_1+x_2}{2},\dfrac{y_1+y_2}{2}\right)

Two diagonals of ABCD are AC and BD.

Midpoint of AC = Midpoint of BD

\left(\dfrac{-3+2}{2},\dfrac{8-5}{2}\right)=\left(\dfrac{4+a}{2},\dfrac{5+b}{2}\right)

\left(\dfrac{-1}{2},\dfrac{3}{2}\right)=\left(\dfrac{4+a}{2},\dfrac{5+b}{2}\right)

On comparing both sides, we get

\dfrac{4+a}{2}=\dfrac{-1}{2}

4+a=-1

a=-1-4

a=-5

And,

\dfrac{5+b}{2}=\dfrac{3}{2}

5+b=3

b=3-5

b=-2

Therefore, the coordinates of fourth vertex are (-5,-2).

Answer:

Q6. D

Q8. A

Step-by-step explanation:

Q6. In 40 trials, he flipped '2 heads and 1 tail' 16 times.

For 2 heads, probability= 16/40= 4/10

For 120 trials, number of times= 4/10 × 120= 48

Q8.

125x + 200 \geqslant 1200 \\ 125x \geqslant 1200 - 200 \\ 125x \geqslant 1000 \\ x \geqslant 1000 \div 125 \\ x \geqslant 8

Answer is A because the inequality shows that x is equal or greater than 8 so the dot at 8 has to be coloured.

Note that we do not change the inequality sign unless we are dividing the whole thing by -1.

A store owner uses a selling price of 125% of the cost of an item. If a pair of jeans has a sales price of $52.50, what cost doe
IgorC [24]

Answer:

The cost store owner pay for the pair of jeans is <u>$42</u>.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

A store owner uses a selling price of 125% of the cost of an item.

If a pair of jeans has a sales price of $52.50.

Now, to find the cost price of the store owner pay for the pair of jeans.

Let the cost price of jeans be x.

Sell price of jeans = \$52.50.

Now, to get the cost price of store owner pay for the pair of jeans:

<em>As given the</em><em> </em><em>store owner uses a selling price of 125% of the cost of an item.</em>

According to question:

125\%\ of\ x=52.50

\frac{125}{100} \times x=52.50

1.25x=52.50

<em>Dividing both sides by 1.25 we get:</em>

x=42.

<em>The cost price of jeans = $42.</em>

Therefore, the cost store owner pay for the pair of jeans is $42.
