Answer:

Volume = 108 cm³

Ratio = 0.398 skittle/cm³

No of jellies it will hold = 1872

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Sides of the boxes = 12 cm , 3 cm and 3 cm

Total Jelly hold = 43 jelly

Other Box dimensions = 28 cm , 14 cm , 12 cm

To Find:

Volume = ?

Ratio of jellies to volume = ?

No of jelly fit in another box = ?

Solution:

Volume of a box is given by the formula

Volume = Length * width * Height

Putting in the values

Volume = 12 * 3 * 3

             = 108 cm³

Now to find Ratio of jellies to Volume of box which is

Jellies : Volume  = 43 : 108

As 43 and 108 both are not divisible by any number so it can be written as

                              = \frac{43}{108}

                               = 0.398 jellies / cm³

Which is the required ratio

Now we have to find How many jellies fit in a new box So

Volume of new box =length * width * height

                                 =28*14*12

                                 = 4704 cm³

This box holds Jellies = Volume * ratio of each jelly per cm³

Putting in the values

Holding of jellies = 4704 * 0.398

                              = 1872.19 jellies or 1872 jellies

Simplify the following:
2 x + 1 + 1/x^2 - (1/x^2 + x - 2)

Put each term in x - 2 + 1/x^2 over the common denominator x^2: x - 2 + 1/x^2 = x^3/x^2 - (2 x^2)/x^2 + 1/x^2:
2 x + 1 + 1/x^2 - x^3/x^2 - (2 x^2)/x^2 + 1/x^2

x^3/x^2 - (2 x^2)/x^2 + 1/x^2 = (x^3 - 2 x^2 + 1)/x^2:
1/x^2 + 2 x + 1 - (x^3 - 2 x^2 + 1)/x^2

The possible rational roots of x^3 - 2 x^2 + 1 are x = ± 1. Of these, x = 1 is a root. This gives x - 1 as all linear factors:
1/x^2 + 2 x + 1 - (((x - 1) (x^3 - 2 x^2 + 1))/(x - 1))/(x^2)

x | - | 1 | | x^2 | - | x | - | 1
x^3 | - | 2 x^2 | + | 0 | + | 1
x^3 | - | x^2 | | | |

| | | | -x | + | 1
| | | | | | 0:
1/x^2 + 2 x + 1 - (x^2 - x - 1 (x - 1))/x^2

Put each term in x^(-2) + 2 x + 1 - ((x - 1) (x^2 - x - 1))/x^2 over the common denominator x^2: x^(-2) + 2 x + 1 - ((x - 1) (x^2 - x - 1))/x^2 = 1/x^2 + (2 x^3)/x^2 + x^2/x^2 - ((x - 1) (x^2 - x - 1))/x^2:1/x^2 + (2 x^3)/x^2 + x^2/x^2 - ((x - 1) (x^2 - x - 1))/x^2
1/x^2 + (2 x^3)/x^2 + x^2/x^2 - ((x - 1) (x^2 - x - 1))/x^2 = (1 + 2 x^3 + x^2 - (x - 1) (x^2 - x - 1))/x^2:(1 + 2 x^3 + x^2 - (x - 1) (x^2 - x - 1))/x^2

| | | | x | - | 1
| | x^2 | - | x | - | 1
| | | | -x | + | 1
| | -x^2 | + | x | + | 0
x^3 | - | x^2 | + | 0 | + | 0
x^3 | - | 2 x^2 | + | 0 | + | 1:
(-x^3 - 2 x^2 + 1 + 2 x^3 + x^2 + 1)/x^2

-(x^3 - 2 x^2 + 1) = -x^3 + 2 x^2 - 1:
(-x^3 + 2 x^2 - 1 + 2 x^3 + x^2 + 1)/x^2

Grouping like terms, 2 x^3 - x^3 + 2 x^2 + x^2 - 1 + 1 = (2 x^3 - x^3) + (x^2 + 2 x^2) + (1 - 1):
((2 x^3 - x^3) + (x^2 + 2 x^2) + (1 - 1))/x^2

2 x^3 - x^3 = x^3:
(x^3 + (x^2 + 2 x^2) + (1 - 1))/x^2

x^2 + 2 x^2 = 3 x^2:
(x^3 + 3 x^2 + (1 - 1))/x^2

1 - 1 = 0:
(x^3 + 3 x^2)/x^2

Factor x^2 out of x^3 + 3 x^2:
(x^2 (x + 3))/x^2

(x^2 (x + 3))/x^2 = x^2/x^2×(x + 3) = x + 3:

A bucket is being filled at a rate of 5/6 gallon in 1/4 minute. What is the unit rate in gallons per minute?
mojhsa [17]

Answer:

3 1/3  gallons per minute

Step-by-step explanation:

We can use ratio's to solve this problem. We will put gallons on top and time on the bottom

5/6 gallons          x gallons

-------------------- = -------------

1/4 minute            1 minute

Using cross products

5/6*1 = 1/4 x

Multiply by 4 on each side

5/6 * 4 = 1/4 *4 x

20/6 = x

Dividing the top and bottom by 2

10/3 =x

Changing this back to a mixed number

3 goes into 10 3 times with 1 left over

3 1/3  gallons per minute

Solve for g
-6g + 3g + 12 > -18
A.g<2
B.g> 2
C.g<10
D.g> 10
Minchanka [31]

Answer:

g < 10

Step-by-step explanation:

-6g + 3g + 12 > -18

Combine like terms

-3g +12 > -18

Subtract 12 from each side

-3g+12-12 > -18-12

-3g > -30

Divide each side by -3, remembering to flip the inequality

-3g/-3 < -30/-3

g < 10
