A psychologist is interested in looking at the effectiveness of a new computer program in helping students learn math. She decid

es to test this new program with a group of middle school students. At this particular school, the boys and girls tend to be disruptive when they are in the same classroom, so she decides to run them separately in the experiment. She creates a group of boys who use the computer program four times per week. She creates a group of girls who do not use the computer program to serve as a comparison group. Answer: confounding variable

Explanation:

A confounding variable is an overlooked variable that has an impact on the dependent variable. It´s an extra independent variable that has a hidden effect on the dependent variable, causing an increase in variance and introducing bias.

In this case, the psychologist didn´t consider the effect gender had on the results, which lowered the internal validity of the study.

How has the Arizona-Sonoran region developed a separate identity that is neither American nor Mexican?

Line, Region, Magnet, and Filter</span><span>.<span> . . Belonging truly to neither nation, it serves as a kind of cultural buffer zone for both, cultivating its own culture and traditions. Like other borders, it both attracts and repels. Like them, it is both barrier and filter. It is above all a stimulating cultural environment. . . .</span>--James S. Griffith
The Arizona Sonora border was established as a result of the Gadsden Purchase of 1853. It runs through desert and mountain country, from the western Chihuahuan Desert by New Mexico through a zone of grassland and oak-covered hills to the classic Sonoran Desert west of Nogales. The land gets more and more arid as one travels west, and the western third of the border is essentially devoid of human habitation. It is this stretch of the border, once a major road to the Colorado River, that has earned and kept the title El Camino del Diablo, "The Devil's Highway."</span>

Which of the following was the most dangerous for prisoners in Andersonville Prison during the Civil War?
gavmur [86]

The first prisoners were brought to Andersonville in late February 1864. During the next few months, approximately 400 more arrived each day. By the end of June, 26,000 men were penned in an area originally meant for only 10,000 prisoners. The largest number held at any one time was more than 33,000 in August 1864. The Confederate government could not provide adequate housing, food, clothing or medical care to their Federal captives because of deteriorating economic conditions in the South, a poor transportation system, and the desperate need of the Confederate army for food and supplies. hope this helps

Pretend you are a school, clinic, or prison administrator. List three problems you might face in the course of your job (e.g., g
storchak [24]

Let's see the first problem I found in school is the lack of freedom to choose school subjects. What does that mean? For example, if an adult does not want to work as a teacher, he or she can try something else. If he does not like to work in this particular company, no one will force him. As for schoolchildren, they can not choose which subjects they study. Nor can they choose teachers. They just have to do the same thing.

It seems to me that the child needs to be given the right to choose to study what they want, but there is one thing when children are often confused with their choice. To solve this problem needs a specialist in school, which can determine according to different tests what is closer to each of schoolchildren

The second problem I found working at the school is the excessive amount of homework. On average, a schoolboy needs an hour to have made lessons on one subject. There are at least five to six lessons a day at school. Just imagine: After school, a schoolboy should memorize two poems on literature, solve several math problems, fill in a table on biology, prepare for a test of English and learn a few pages on history. Altogether it will take about five hours.

In addressing this issue, the teacher must understand how to plan the work of such volume and content so that students do not experience overloading, which is why it is necessary to take into account the way students are engaged in other subjects on that day.

The third problem of teacher's influence on the pupil is the attitude of some teachers to pupils. For example, a teacher respects each pupil, regardless of his academic performance and achievements. Unfortunately, there are teachers who can be very rude to children. After the pupils have no desire to go to school. They do not have the right to choose their favorite teachers.

It is hard to disagree with the opinion that indeed, the teacher has a great influence on the disciples. To solve this problem it important to understand that the role of teacher to laid as the foundation of personality, a necessary basis, which is a kind of impetus to a new, interesting, dignified life.
