Glycolysis is an anaerobic process used to catabolize glucose. what does it mean for this process to be an anaerobic?

Anaerobic process means that process which doesn't require oxygen . Glycolysis can occur in the absence of oxygen and that is why it is an anerobic process. It also takes place in oresence of oxygen, called aerobic process.
