Answer:

one 40% discount

Step-by-step explanation:

lets use 100$ total for an example.

Say we have 40% of 100 so the total would be 60$ but it we have 20% and then another 20% off that we would have a final total of 64$\

Prove: 100*.4=40 100-40=60

100*.2=20 100-20=80, 80*.2=16 80-16= 64$

A 40% discount. For example, taking 40% or .4 off 100 is 40. So for an item that costs 100$ you save 40$ = a 60$ item. If you were to do 2, 20% discounts it would be 100 x 20%, or .2, = 20, so an 80$ item. Then 20% of that would be 16. 80-16=64. 60 is less than 64 meaning a greater discount, like 40% off would be cheaper, then two discounts half if its size, like 2 20% discounts. A satellite dish has cross-sections shaped like parabolas. The receiver is located 13 inches from the base along the axis of sym
horsena [70]

Answer:

Depth = 3.3 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

 Given that the shape of the satellite looks like a parabola

The equation of parabola is given as follows

x^2=4\times a\times y

Where

a= 13

Therefore

x^2=4\times 13\times y

x^2=52\times y

Lets take (13 , y) is a

Now by putting the values in the above equation we get

13^2=52\times y

y=\dfrac{13^2}{52}=3.25

y=3.25 in

Therefore the depth of the satellite at the nearest integer will be 3.3 inches.

Depth = 3.3 inches

These two quantities obviously refer to a picture or drawing that shows how they're related to each other. Without the picture, they're not related, and there's no answer.

Three bells ring at an interval of 10,20,and 30 minutes respectively. If they all ring together at 10:30 p.m.,at what time will
Ahat [919]

Answer:

11:30 PM

Step-by-step explanation:

This question is essentially asking for the lowest common multiple of 10, 20, and 30. If we write out all the multiples of each, we get:

10: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, ...

20: 20, 40, 60, 80, ...

30: 30, 60, 90, ...

As you can see, the lowest common multiple is 60, and 60 minutes after 10:30 PM is 11:30 PM.
