Alexia is writing a research paper about cell phones. Her thesis is that cell phone use while driving leads to major health haza

rds.
She has decided to use the Internet for part of her research study. After doing a search for airbags, she comes across an article on the
homepage for the Department of Motor Vehicles with statistics regarding accidents due to cell phone use. The article is credited to Jim
March, an EMT from Albuquerque and clearly states that people who use cell phones while they drive increase their risk of causing an
accident. She bookmarks the site and continues to research. Later, she comes across a website called CarStuff.com. There is a
commentary that is written by an anonymous source that says cell phone use and driving are perfectly safe.
What is one way for Alexia to decide which source is more credible?

An infinitive is NOT a verb, so s, es, ed, or ing should not be added to the end. Infinitives can be used as nouns, adjectives or adverbs. According to the pattern of what an infinitive should be, “to cook” is the infinitive of this sentence and it functions as a noun. </span>

Family is one of Be Strong Families core values, beginning with respect for and appreciation of others no matter how old, how young, where they come from, what they’ve experienced, where they are, how capable they are, how healthy they are, who they love. It extends to individuals’ choices of who they call family – what intentional, meaningful relationships they form. Our value of family extends to the community and sisterhood and brotherhood. Although we are united by this value, family means something different to each of us. Hear from our Board of Directors what family means to them:

“My family is and has been supportive in helping me raise my children. They represent the foundation of who I have become in life. It was my aunt and uncle who drove me around looking at colleges as a high school student and encouraging me for higher education. My grandparents financed my college education. My family has always been there for me, in good times and not-so-good times. If it wasn’t for my mother, I am not sure where I would be today. Since I got divorced 12 years ago, my mother has helped me financially to stay in my home and meet the needs of my growing kids.”

1. What figurative language term is this passage an example of?
anygoal [31]
I would consider this a simile because it is making a comparison. It is comparing the Prophets of the 8th century to the speaker in this piece of text.
