Length(width) = area

504 = 14(x)

504/14 = 14(x)/14

x = 504/14

x = 36

the poster is 36 centimeters long

hope this helps :D

Let the length of the poster be l and the width be w.
w=14
l*w=504
l*14=504
l=504/14=36 cm. Hope this helps!

4. The random variable x is the number of occurrences of an event over an interval of ten minutes. It can be assumed that the pr
AnnZ [28]

Answer:

a) We have the mean number of events is interval(5.3 events in 10 minutes), which constitutes the Poisson probability distribution.

b) 5.3

c) 5.3

Step-by-step explanation:

In a Poisson distribution, the probability that X represents the number of successes of a random variable is given by the following formula:

P(X = x) = \frac{e^{-\mu}*\mu^{x}}{(x)!}

In which

x is the number of sucesses

e = 2.71828 is the Euler number

\mu is the mean in the given time interval.

a. What probability distributions' properties is this?

We have the mean number of events is interval(5.3 events in 10 minutes), which constitutes the Poisson probability distribution.

b. What is the expected value of the random variable x?

It is known that the mean number of occurrences in ten minutes is 5.3.

So the mean is \mu = 5.3

c. What is the variance of the random variable x?

In the Poisson probability distribution, the variance is the same as the mean. So the variance is 5.3.

How many revolutions must be made by a wheel of diameter 2.8m in order to cover a distance of 484km?
arlik [135]
<h2>Answer :</h2>

A wheel is a circle.

Given diameter of wheel = 2.8 m

Then radius of the wheel = 2.8/2 = 1.4 m

Now we know that , circumference of circle =2\pi r

<h3>Then, </h3>

Circumference of wheel = 2 × 22/7 × 1.4

Circumference of wheel = 8.8 m

<u>From the above we can conclude that ;</u>

1 revolution = 8.8 m

x revolution = 484 km = 484000 m

<h3>Thus, </h3>

x =  \frac{1}{8.8}  \times 484000 \\  \\ x = 55000

<h3>Therefore, total of 55,000 revolutions are made by the wheel.</h3>
