Answer:

c

Explanation:

The Eighteenth Amendment prohibited “the manufacture, sale, or transportation of intoxicating liquors” but not the consumption, private possession, or production for one’s own consumption. In contrast to earlier amendments to the Constitution, the Amendment set a one-year time delay before it would be operative, and set a time limit (seven years) for its ratification by the states. Its ratification was certified on January 16, 1919, and the Amendment took effect on January 16, 1920.I t was repealed in 1933 by ratification of the Twenty-First Amendment. This was the one time in American history that a constitutional amendment was repealed in its entirety.

Sociologists who analyze class using the conflict perspective a. argue that class is basically a matter of what individuals poss
nataly862011 [7]

Answer:

c. see class as defined by the relationship of the classes to the larger system of economic production.

Explanation:

The conflict perspective analyzes society through distributive conflict.

Distributive conflict consists, literally, in the dispute over the distribution of wealth (income) among social classes. For example, workers are a class that reinvigorates higher wages (greater share in distribution) while entrepreneurs aim to lower wages to increase their own share of total income distribution.

Distributive conflict occurs in all areas of the economy, whether in the productive or financial sphere, and the rationale for the analysis lies precisely in the demonstration of classses as economic classes.

What kinds of difficulties did the builders of central face?
Lostsunrise [7]

here were many challenges to building the railroad east from Sacramento, CA. The first, and most difficult challenge for both companies building the transcontinental railroad, was the Sierra Nevada mountains.

But even before they could make it to the mountains, the company had to get most of the materials they needed from the eastern US. That meant the supplies had to come by boat. It took six months to sail from New York to San Francisco.

There were no significant issue building the road from Sacramento until they reached the slopes of the mountains. Open land gave way to dense forests with thick brush. The trees could be 150 feet high. (45.72 meters)

Winter in the mountains is never an easy season and the more snow, the harder it is to move around. The first summer the crews were in the Sierra range, there were 42 snow storms. The crews tunneled into the huge piles of snow and made camping spaces.

The tunnels were the hardest thing they did. The drilled holes and filled them with black powder. An average day made one foot of progress into the stone face. They built 15 tunnels from 92′ to 1,659′ for a total length of 6,213 feet. This was all through solid granite. They finally used nitroglycerin beginning in tunnel #6.
