First distribute the 3

12y - 15 = 69

Subtract -15 from both sides

12y = 84

<u>y=7</u>

PROOF:

3 (4 *7 - 5)

3 (28-5)

3 (23) = 69

Y<span>= 7 because if you divide both sides by three you get 3(4y -5) </span><span> ÷ 3 and 69</span><span> ÷ 3 and you simplify it you get 4y - 5 </span><span>= 23 then add 5 to both sides 4y - 5 + 5 = 23</span> <span>+ 5  simplify that you get 4y </span><span>= 28 divide again but divide both sides by 4
4y </span><span>÷ 4    28 </span><span>÷ 4 simplify one more time and y </span><span><span>= 7!</span> </span>

5x/x^2-9 + 7/x+3<br> Simplify
rjkz [21]

5x ÷ x² - 9 + 7 ÷ x + 3

Write the division as a fraction:

\frac{5x}{x^{2} }\\ - 9 + \frac{7}{x} + 3

Simplify the expression:

\frac{5}{x} - 9 + \frac{7}{x} + 3

Calculate the sum:

\frac{5}{x} - 6 + \frac{7}{x}

Write all numerators above the common denominator:

\frac{5 - 6x + 7}{x}

Add the numbers and you get the final answer:

\frac{12-6x}{x}

Which vector matrix represents the reflection of the vector &lt;-1,5&gt; across the line x = y
Arturiano [62]

Answer:

V = \left[\begin{array}{ccc}5&-1\end{array}\right]

Step-by-step explanation:

We want to reflect this 2x1 vector on the line y = x.

To make this reflection we must use the following matrix:

R=\left[\begin{array}{cc}0&1\\1&0\\\end{array}\right]

Where R is known as the reflection matrix on the line x = y

Now perform the product of the vector <-1,5> x R.

\left[\begin{array}{ccc}-1\\5\end{array}\right]x\left[\begin{array}{ccc}0&1\\1&0\end{array}\right]\\\\\\\left[\begin{array}{ccc}-1(0) +5(1)&-1(1)+5(0)\end{array}\right]\\\\\\\left[\begin{array}{ccc}5&-1\end{array}\right]

The vector matrix that represents the reflection of the vector <-1,5> across the line x = y is:

V = \left[\begin{array}{ccc}5&-1\end{array}\right]
