The answer is predator-prey interaction. Predators are adapted and often highly specialized for hunting. Prey, on the other hand, have defenses to avoid being eaten. Predation exerts an ultimate selective pressure on the prey population. Predator-prey interactions are important drivers in structuring ecological communities.

The symbiosis of parasitism

Further explanation

Organisms that take food from other organisms are called parasites. The organisms taken for food are commonly called hosts. So in the symbiosis of parasitism there are those who benefit and are disadvantaged. The beneficiary is usually called a parasite. Therefore this interaction is called symbiosis parasitism.

The symbiosis of parasitism is needed to maintain the survival of organisms in an ecosystem. Just try to contemplate and imagine what would have happened if all the insects had been destroyed and destroyed.

The result is that plants that pollinate depending on insect protection will not be able to produce seeds so that eventually become extinct. This will certainly disturb the balance of the ecosystem.

Examples of prasaitism symbiosis

1. Tapeworms and the Human Body

Tapeworms live endoparasites in the human intestine. Humans are harmed because tapeworms suck the blood and juice that humans need so that humans become thin and pale due to lack of blood and juice. Tapeworms benefit because they get food for their survival.

2. Mushrooms and the Human Body

The fungus, like the fungus of life, sticks to human skin. Mushrooms benefit from getting food from the human body. Humans are disadvantaged because in addition to feeling itching, humans also lose food taken by the fungus.

3. Head lice and the human body

Head lice live ectoparasites on the human head. Fleas benefit from getting food or sucking human blood. Humans are harmed by blood loss and itching caused by the tick bite.
