Answer:

The actual speed of the car is either 57 mph or 63 mph

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as :

The measured speed o the car = 60 mph

The percentage error in speedometer = 5 %

Let The actual speed of car = x mph

Now, percentage error = \dfrac{\textrm actual value - \textrm measured value}{\textrm measured value} × 100

So, \frac{5}{100} = \frac{x - 60}{60}

or,  \frac{5}{100} × 60 = x - 60

Or, 3 = x - 60

∴  x = 63 mph

Hence The actual speed of the car is either 57 mph or 63 mph . Answer

Question 14(Multiple Choice Worth 5 points)
ddd [48]

Answer:

Find all polar coordinates of point P where P = (5 , -pi+%2F6 ).

There are two sets of possibilities.

(1) Same (positive) magnitude and an angle that is the same as the given angle, or differs from the given angle by an even multiple of pi:

P = (5, -pi%2F6%2B2n%2Api )

(2) Opposite (negative) magnitude and an angle that differs from the given angle by an odd multiple of pi:

(-5, -pi%2F6%2B%282n%2B1%29pi)

answer is: (5,-pi%2F6+%2B+2n%2Api) or (-5, -pi%2F6%2B%282n%2B1%29pi)

Therefore the sides will be proportional,

  • \dfrac{n}{9}  =  \dfrac{4}{12}

  • n =  \dfrac{1}{3}  \times 9

  • n = 3 \:  \: units

<u>Figure - 2</u> :

Let the missing side as " m "

The Triangles are similar, therefore their sides will be proportional.

  • \dfrac{m}{8}  =  \dfrac{9}{6}

  • m =  \dfrac{3}{2}  \times 8

  • m = 3 \times 4

  • m = 12 \:  \: units

translate phrases into algebraic expressions, the difference between the cube of a number and the square of the number
Korolek [52]

Answer:

x^3-x^2.

Step-by-step explanation:

The word "difference" represents a subtraction. Then the algebraic expression will be of the form a-b.

Now, the difference is between the cube of a number and the square of the number, then let's call the number x. The square of the number is raise to two. Then the square of the number is x^2.

The cube of the number is raise to three. Then the cube of the number is x^3.

So, the difference between the cube of a number and the square of the number (we are talking about the same number in the square and the cube) is x^3-x^2.
