Research shows that it might take a while before Mitchell adapts to the idea of doing everything by himself in a different environment without anyone to actually pressure him into doing things in a certain way on an everyday basis. After a while, he will adapt and understand the new situation and his behavior might shift to something even more or even less consistent. Nonetheless, this sort of inconsistent behavior is not strange during the first semester.
Mitchell's behavior, in my opinion, would be that it is <span>not necessarily unusual in behavior. It is fairly common in college freshman to skip class and homework assignments.</span>
