Using data compiled by the Admissions Office at an imaginary university, college admissions officers estimate that 65% of the st

udents who are offered admissions to the freshman class at the university will actually enroll.
(a) Find an equation that expresses the relationship between the number of students who actually enroll (y) and the number of students who are offered admission to the university (x).

Answer:

a) y= 0.65x

b) 2000

Step-by-step explanation:

a) If x=the number of students who are offered admission to the university and y =the number of students who actually enroll  the ratio y/x= 65/100

So  if we multiply both sides by x, we will get y=0.65 x

b) If y= 0.65x and we want y= 1300, replace this into the equation , then we have \frac{1300}{x} = 0.65

Then x=  \frac{1300}{0.65}, that is x= 2000

atroni [7]

Answer:Simplificando

5 (2j + 3 + j) = 0

Reordene os termos:

5 (3 + 2j + j) = 0

Combine termos semelhantes: 2j + j = 3j

5 (3 + 3j) = 0

(3 * 5 + 3j * 5) = 0

(15 + 15j) = 0

Resolvendo

15 + 15j = 0

a verdadeira questão é por que o vizinho de Sarah quer dentes de tubarão

Step-by-step explanation:

Mova todos os termos contendo j para a esquerda, todos os outros termos para a direita.

Adicione '-15' a cada lado da equação.

15 + -15 + 15j = 0 + -15

Combine termos semelhantes: 15 + -15 = 0

0 + 15j = 0 + -15

15j = 0 + -15

Combine termos semelhantes: 0 + -15 = -15

15j = -15

Divida cada lado por '15'.

j = -1

Simplificando

j = -1

Two lines are represented by the equations -1/2y=6x+10 and y=mx for which value of m will the lines be parallel
hjlf

Answer:

-12

Step-by-step explanation:

So to start we need to know what makes a line parallel. In an equation we know that for lines to be parallel they must have the same slope(m).

Then, we  need to know the slope-intercept form of an equation. The slope intercept form is y=mx+b where m is the slope of the line and b is the y-intercept. In this problem where can see the second equation is already in this form.

Now that we know we need to find the slope, and we know that the second equation is in slope-intercept form we're going to convert the fist equation into the correct form.

To do this, we know we need to make sure y is the only thing on the left side of the equal sign. Currently, on the left side of the equal sign we have -\frac{1}{2} y so we have to divide both sides by -\frac{1}{2} to get y=-12x -20

Now that we have it converted to slope-intercept form, we are going to look for what represents the slope or m in the equation. In this case the slope would be -12, so any line with a slope of -12 will be parallel.

What is the exact circumference of a circle with a radius of 17 millimeters?
anzhelika [568]
The equation of a circumference is 2\pir. Since we know that r=17, we plug that into the formula, and get an answer of C. 34

If c(x) = 4x – 2 and d(x) = x^2+ 5x, what is (c circle d) (x)?
Xelga [282]

Answer:

4x² + 20x - 2

Step-by-step explanation:

To evaluate (c ○ d)(x), substitute x = d(x) into c(x)

c(x² + 5x)

= 4(x² + 5x) - 2

= 4x² + 20x - 2
