kondaur [170]

Byzantine Empire was a continuation of Roman empire which merely had moved its seat from Rome to a new eastern capital in Constantinople. The Byzantine Empire was Greek , both culturally and linguistically, while the Western Roman Empire spoke Latin.

The old Roman gods lost their importance in the Byzantine empire. Though they preserved the Greek and Roman culture. The Roman empire covered more land than the Byzantine empire on east. The Byzantines became a center of orthodox Christianity.

Did the Renaissance involve shifts in religious attitudes?
guajiro [1.7K]
Yes there were a lot of shifts in the attitude why? well we know that the Renaissance times had a lot to do with drawings learning and just opening up the world a lot more. Lets just take the situation in the Papal states the drawings had much in it that the church did not like, because of that the Pope Julius II demanded to take it back to Italy were the drawing originally came from but after that happened a lot of people were unhappy and disagreed with the church that was one of the first time since the Dark ages that the church started to loose power. So yes the renaissance times did involve multiple changes in religion hope i helped. Good luck :)

Which statement best describes how slavery was presented in Uncle Tom's Cabin. A slavery was presented as a political problem fo
vovangra [49]

When Harriet Beecher Stowe wrote "Uncle Tom’s Cabin; or, Life Among the Lowly" in 1850, she took her learnings from being an anti-abolitionist since 1830, combined them with her Christian faith and created the story as a response to the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850, that's considered to be one of the reasons that influenced the start of the American Civil War.

In her tale, she aims to question the morality of slavery and how this institution conflicted with her Christianity, and does this through the usage of strong imagery, racist depictions and the use of the stereotypes of the time in order to paint a clear picture of the reality that slave had to deal with.

The combination of all these elements resulted in the fact that, more than a political or economical issue, slavery was a moral problem.

So the correct answer is C: Slavery was presented as a moral problem which every person needed to confront
