Answer:

A central idea of a text is the most important idea.

Explanation:

The central idea or main idea is the most important idea or central thought of a text that helps the reader understand what the text is about. This could refer to what the text is about in its entirety, or at least in various paragraphs or sections. Sometimes, the main idea is directly stated in the text, while some other times, it is implied.

4-The neighbors will start to believe that Les Goodman is an alien.

At this point in the teleplay, The neighbors are starting to become paranoid. They don't understand why the power is acting so sporadically. The suggestions that have been offered as to the source of this strange occurrence had them believing in aliens. In the excerpt, the people are described as staring at Les Goodman's house and being "desperately frightened by it." These clues indicate that they are suspicious of Les Goodman, not trusting allies or happy for him.

How does the structure of this Italian sonnet by Petrarch support its theme?
Snowcat [4.5K]

How does the structure of this Italian sonnet by Petrarch support its theme? An octave builds an idea about love, while the sestet comments on that idea

Explanation:

Francesco Petrarca is the best known for the Iyric poetry of his Canzoniere and is considered as one of the greatest love poets of world literature.

Those eyes, 'neath which my passionate rapture rose,

The arms, hands, feet, the beauty that erewhile

Could my own soul from its own self beguile,

And in a separate world of dreams enclose,

The hair's bright tresses, full of golden glows,

And the soft lightning of the angelic smile

That changed this earth to some celestial isle,

Are now but dust, poor dust, that nothing knows.

And yet I live! Myself I grieve and scorn,

Left dark without the light I loved in vain,

Adrift in tempest on a bark forlorn;

Dead is the source of all my amorous strain,

Dry is the channel of my thoughts outworn,

And my sad harp can sound but notes of pain.

The structure of this Italian sonnet by Petrarch support its theme that an octave builds an idea about love, while the sestet comments on that idea. The Petrarch sonnet has an octave and a sestet. The octave usually deal with an idea of love, whereas in the sestet the writer would talk analyze that idea.

Writing Conventions • Day 3- Is this a simple sentence or a fragment? If it is a fragment, tell what is missing and then make it
andrew-mc [135]

Answer:

Yes, it is a sentence fragment.

Explanation:

Sentence fragments are when sentences are missing information and don't fully express the information they are trying to show.

An example is "I water."

We don't know what that means because it is missing a word.

"I like water."

From the text, when was the car lost and found? Was something lost inside the car and found? So, it is a sentence fragment.

We can add an extra word in the sentence fragment to make it a full sentence. There are some different ways you can do this:

"The car was lost and found."

"The car lost a wheel and was later found.

You just have to add words to make it a complete thought and make sense.
