The Student Non-violent Coordinating Committee or SNCC was formed as a peaceful civil rights organization by Ella Baker to bring young blacks into the movement.
SNCC organized younger blacks into a group to bring about social change using peaceful protest. The group organized the Freedom Rides where blacks challenged the segregation laws for buses.
