The correct answer is: C. the exposition.

In literature, the term <em>exposition</em> can be defined as the part of a story that offers explanation about where the storyy happens, about the events that took place before something happened, and also gives additional information about the characters.

Resolution is usually found at the end of a literary work, and it's the part where everything unfolds and the reader gets answers.

Conflict, in literature, is a struggle between the opposing sides, and it usually involves the main character's stuggle with something/ someone.

The falling action happens after the climax and after the conflict in the story has been resolved.

Determine the fallacies of weak induction in the following argument and give a brief explanation of your answer.
anyanavicka [17]

Answer:

Slippery slope.

Explanation:

A fallacy is demonstrated as the flaw or error in the reasoning of the argument which makes it unsound and invalid.

Slippery slope fallacy is described as the flaw in an argument that falsely asserts a minor or small step leading to a series of major events that are quite significant to a particular consequence.

As per the description, the given argument displays 'slippery slope' fallacy as the minor event('the animal-rights activists get their foot in the door') leading to a series of events('if they sell us on the idea that animals have rights, next...insects') which would bring significant yet unintended consequences(' will lead to the decimation of our agricultural industry', 'starvation of human race will follow'). Thus, the argument fails logically to establish the appropriate cause leading to the significant effect and hence, displays <u>'slippery slope'</u> fallacy.

Which aspects of a story best help the reader understand the author's purpose? Select three options
swat32

Answer:

Tone, Plot, and Imagery.

Explanation:

These would be the answers because; tone allows the reader into the trance of the novel allowing them to truly understand the meaning behind the story or scene. Plot lets the reader know what is happening throughout the story, without the plot, the book wouldn't make any logical sense. Imagery, some people have a hard time imagining the story in their head on their own. Most authors use imagery to draw the reader's attention to what's really happening throughout the story ad allows them to create that mental picture for themselves. These all create a whole new atmosphere for the reader and help you better understand the author's purpose.

In at least 500 words, write a reflective essay on a text or texts you've read that focuses on South Africa. What did you learn
oksano4ka [1.4K]

Answer:

South Africa is a country located at the southern tip of Africa. It has had a rich colonial history since the seventeenth century. In 1652 the Dutch arrived who founded a refreshment post on the Cape. After a century and a half of Dutch colonization, the Cape Colony was taken over by the United Kingdom. As a result, a large number of Dutch-speaking settlers, known as Boers, migrated inland with the Great Trek and founded several Boer states, of which the South African Republic and the Orange Free State were ultimately the most important. These republics were conquered by the British in 1902 in the Second Boer War and united together with the Cape Colony and Natal in 1910 to form South Africa. In the 20th century, South Africa was overshadowed by apartheid, a system of racial segregation that systematically disadvantaged the non-white population. In 1990, apartheid was abolished and in 1994 Nelson Mandela was elected South Africa's first black president.  It is a country with diverse population groups and eleven official languages, including Afrikaans, which is related to Dutch. The country is a parliamentary republic with three capitals and is one of the most developed countries in the continent, but poverty and crime rates remain high.
