Answer:

the main idea a writer discusses in an essay

Explanation:

A thesis statement summarizes an essay's main ideas in a concrete and straightforward manner, and it appears in the introductory paragraph.

The thesis statement reveals in one single sentence the information a reader needs in order to understand the intention of the essay, its structure, and the main components of analysis.

Which sentence correctly uses the word sordid?
zubka84 [21]

Answer:

The news reporter relished in recounting all of the sordid details of the political scandal.

Explanation:

The definition of "sordid' is morally ignoble or base; vile: sordid methods. meanly selfish, self-seeking, or mercenary. dirty or filthy. Seeing that and looking at the sentences the first one is most likely not it, as well as the third sentence. For me, it was between the second sentence and the fourth sentence. In the second sentence, sordid does seem like it could be used as dirty or filthy, but it doesn't relate to all of the other related words to describe it as. In the fourth sentence, the use of sordid relates the most to the related words. The political scandal very well could be morally ignoble, meanly selfish, self-seeking, etc. Hope this helps! :)
