Infants breathing rate varies according to their age. The speed lowers as the infant grows older. The age is not stated thus I assume that the infant you are referring to is a newborn up to 6 months old. Therefore, an infant with 30 breaths per minute is normal. Newborn to 6-month-old babies has a breathing rate of 20-60 breaths per minute.
