The similarity between passive and active prosthetic devices is: Both replace missing limbs.

A prosthetic device can be defined as a device that is designed and developed to artificially replace a missing part of the human body or to improve the function of a particular body part.

Some of the body parts that are artificially replaced with a prosthetic device are:

  • Limbs.
  • Tooth.
  • Eyes.
  • Palate.

Basically, there are two (2) main types of prosthetic devices and these include:

I. Active prosthetic device.

II. Passive prosthetic device.

In conclusion, both passive and active prosthetic devices are used to artificially replace missing limbs.
