Answer:  The Communist Party was the governing structure of the Soviet Union.

Explanation:

This party was founded at the end of the 19th century in Minsk (Belarus) and over time became the most powerful party in this part of Europe. The party had multiple branches, and the Bolshevik branch of this party was responsible for the Revolutions in Russia and the extinguishment of imperial rule and their coming to the top of the country. From the mid-twenties, the twentieth century, this party will be the only active party in the Soviet Union.

The activity of this party in the Soviet Union is often associated with totalitarianism because the right of political freedom, opinion, legislative action was strictly forbidden. Under Stalin, this party will take the most radical form. Stalin's rule was characterized by the persecution and murder of political dissenters and all those considered by the system to be enemies. The collapse of the Soviet Union in the last decade of the twentieth century also led to the extermination of this party.
