Use the remainder theorem
3x - 6 = 0  so x = 2.

If your answer is correct f(2) will equal 20

Try it:-

(2)^3 + 3(2)^2 + 2 - 2 = 8 + 12 + 2 - 2 =  20

so you are correct

Plug in 20 as x in the original equation and simplify. If your answer is correct, you will get something like 5=5. If your answer is wrong, you will get something like 9=5.
