8.8 oz since the pigs food is 1.8oz and you multiply that by 5 and then by .5 then you add it together

A Chemist has 100g of 25% acid solution. How much of these solution he needs to drain and replace with 70% acid solution to obta
Lapatulllka [165]
To solve this kind of problem,  there are two concepts: the total amount of solution and the total amount of acid

in this case, suppose there are x grams of the 25% solution, y grams of the 70% of soltuion
x + y = 100                             => y= 100-x
0.25x + 0.7y =0.6 *100  =60
replace y with 100-x:   0.25x + 0.7(100-x)=60
                                     0.45x=10
                                            x= 22.22
100-22.22=77.78
so he needs to drain about 77.78 grams of the solution.

Find a parametric representation for the surface. the part of the plane z = x + 3 that lies inside the cylinder x2 + y2 = 9. (en
Evgesh-ka [11]
The cylinder is a clue to use cylindrical coordinates. Taking x=3\cos\theta and y=3\sin\theta, we then are forced to use z=3\cos\theta+3. So the parameterization of the intersection of the plane and cylinder is

\mathbf s(\theta)=(3\cos\theta,3\sin\theta,3\cos\theta+3)

To get the surface, we can introduce a second parameter r that "contracts" the elliptical intersection to a point. The simplest way to do this is to use

\mathbf s(r,\theta)=(3r\cos\theta,3r\sin\theta,3r\cos\theta+3)

with 0\le r\le1 and 0\le\theta\le2\pi.
