deadly?

A strain is a low-level taxonomic rank used at the intraspecific level (within a species). While the majority of the members of the same species have very high similarity in their genomes, there occasionally is a proportion of the species that has a little different genome from the popular species group. This variability results in different strains on the species.

A harmless Staphylococcus aureus may have a muted virulence gene. However, either due to mutation of the gene or recombination with the harmful strain, a harmless Staphylococcus aureus could easily turn virulent (harmful).

A mugger steals your wallet causing all of the following to happen EXCEPT ________.a.) increased metabolic rateb.) increased rat
Lapatulllka [165]

Answer:

c.) increased glucose uptake to the liver from blood

Explanation:

During stressful conditions such as facing a mugger, the sympathetic system of the autonomic nervous system is activated. There is a release of stress hormones from the adrenal glands to produce the flight or fight response. One of the physiological events occurring during these conditions is the breakdown of glycogen into glucose in liver cells and the release of glucose into the blood. The release of glucose by the liver increases blood glucose levels. This is done to ensure glucose availability as fuel. There is no uptake of glucose from the liver cells under such emergency conditions.

Researchers noted that when a lysine residue on a histone is acetylated, its side chain becomes neutral in charge. Combined with
lesantik [10]

Answer:

The correct answer is A) Histone deacetylation generally decreases gene expression.

Explanation:

Histones are the proteins that are responsible for the condensation of chromatin, which is directly linked to the capacity that a gene has to be expressed. The more condensed a gene is, the less expressible it becomes.

In order to regulate the gene expression, histones can suffer from many modifications that can change their conformation and the expressiveness of specific genes.

Histone acetylation is linked with an increase of gene expression; while deacetylation and methylation decrease gene expression.
