Answer:

AED stands for Automated External Defibrillator. AEDs are used when the heart rate increases to an extent where very less blood are pumped to the body. AEDs are the devices that are put on the chest region to bring back the heart rate to normal.

AEDs are powered by batteries that provides current to control the contraction and relaxation of heart muscle. Victims upto the age of eight are given AEDs with smaller pads as they require less energy for the same dose of defibrillation.

What is the rationale behind having a motorcycle helmet law that applies only to teens
igomit [66]

Answer: Each state has different laws pertaining to who must wear motorcycle helmets. The rationale behind teens only having to wear a helmet when an adult may not have to is because teens have a higher risk. Since teens are new drivers, they need to wear helmets to help protect them in case of a wreck. Seasoned drivers are more alert and know the roads and when to drive during certain types of weather. Since teens are new drivers, they may drive in bad weather, not be alert as older adults.
