Amy is experimenting to see how a truss (a type of support) can strengthen a bridge. Amy builds several models of bridges out of

toothpicks. Each model has a different number of trusses. Amy suspends each model between two desks. She then adds lead weights to each bridge, one-by-one, until the bridge breaks. In the chart below, Amy recorded how many lead weights each bridge held before breaking.

There are almost 10,000 known bird species on the planet. How did they evolve into so many unique forms?
olga55 [171]

Answer:

Natural selection.

Explanation:

Imagine in the beginning there was a single species of bird. Naturally, this bird had to expand to the rest of the world, and was distanced as the continents drifted off. But this bird had to cope with various climates and environments. So the bird would gradually mutate over time. The bird in the jungles of central america would develop different colors and a shaped beak, and would better help it survive. This led to being the new normal for birds of this area. It would evolve to cover all the surviving birds in the region, until it is so drastically changed then it is a new species. There are so many different environments, each with its own challenges to overcome, so so many different bird evolve to survive them.

Where would you be most likely to find the oldest rocks on Earth?
alekssr [168]

At the outer edges of ocean crust

Explanation:

The rocks found in continents are older and in some cases the oldest. The younger rocks are found in mid ridge of ocean. The oldest rocks can be found in ocean trenches that are very deep.

At the outer edges of ocean crust, oldest rocks can’t be found as relatively newer ones are formed continually and mostly found. So, different regions have different ages of rocks and needs to be explored properly.
