Well, from 80000 only 80% went to the polls, how many is that?

if we take 80000 to be the 100%, then how much is the 80%?

\bf \begin{array}{ccll}
amount&\%\\
\text{\textemdash\textemdash\textemdash}&\text{\textemdash\textemdash\textemdash}\\
80000&100\\
x&80
\end{array}\implies \cfrac{80000}{x}=\cfrac{100}{80}\implies \cfrac{80000\cdot 80}{100}\implies 64000=x

now, from those 64000 60% voted for X, that means that the remaining 40% voted for Y, how many is that 40%?

well, if we take 64000 to be 100%, how much is 40%?

\bf \begin{array}{ccll}
amount&\%\\
\text{\textemdash\textemdash\textemdash}&\text{\textemdash\textemdash\textemdash}\\
64000&100\\ y&40
\end{array}\implies \cfrac{64000}{y}=\cfrac{100}{40}\implies \cfrac{64000\cdot 40}{100}=y

Oksi-84 [34.3K]

Answer:

Ok if you look at the figure, it is a vertical angle. This means that the angle opposite to each other is congruent.

m<1 is congruent to m<3

m<2 is congruent to m<4

m<3 is 60⁰ and is congruent to m<1. This means that m<1 is 60⁰. m<4 is 30⁰ and is congruent to m<2. This means that m<2 is 30⁰.

m<1 = 60⁰

m<2 = 30⁰

m<3 = 60⁰

m<4 = 30⁰

Hope this helps, thank you :) !!
