<span>Hamlet, Act III Scene I - here are some ideas and two videos to start the comparison.

It could be seen that these videos are recorded in different  times and by different actors. As regards the 1st one, both are well- known today and it seems that it was done many years ago. the 2nd might show a modern version in a theater not in a setting and with a poorer production. 

As in the 1st one the actors are dressed according to the time and props are used to represent Shakespearean years  the 2nd presents no props, no scenario just actors without even wearing customs.

The second version might show actors standing and sitting while the 1st one that are always standing.

The 1st video seems to have lost colour maybe because of the pass of time and the 2nd presents bright colours. As regards the camera shots in the 1st video, it could be seen some close-ups and distance shootings while in the second the camera is pretty near the actors.

settings: background-  S:it was a stable background for both videos D:  one is more visual and goes with the story than the black background

settings props- S: the props they used were similar and went with the storyline D: in the first video there is no props but the second has props

costume- S:  they tried to use a costume that would go well with the videos D:  first one the actors used costumes and the second one they did not, they just wore regular clothes

body lan, facial expressions:  S: they did normal facial expressions despite when filmed D: the body lang. and facial expressions were different between the first vs. second video

tone of voice: S:  tone of voice was still there they used accents for both videos D:tone of voice was different due to of when the videos were filmed

actions: S:  were able to move around, demonstrate things D:  first one they are sitting down and second video they are up and moving

lgithing s:  lighting was well enough to see the video D:  color/quality in video is off in the first one due to when it was filmed and the second one was good quality/ close to the actors faces

camera focus and angles: S: the camera was stable and focused well for both of the videos D:  the first video is close to the actors and second is farther away

word choice: s: they used words that the book used despite the time the video was filmed D:  first one had different dialogue due to todays world and how we dont use the word choice the second video has

emphasis:  S:the emphasis was there for both videos D:  the emphasis was alot more in the second video due to when it was filmed than the first

okay now heres my essay i wrote:

I would say for the videos linked, Gibson Hamlet 3.1 would aim to an older audience. The reason is due to their word choice. They used thy, whom, etc. Those are more older forms, which I think an older audience would be able to understand. Also in Gibson Hamlet 3.1 the video background was more interesting in a way. It had buildings in the back, which gave off a good storyline. I feel like it would be better for an older audience. Now for the second video I linked which was Hamlet Act 3, I think this version would aim for a younger audience. The dialogue is still there using older forms but it is not that much to a point where a younger audience wouldn't understand. Plus the background is more of a calmer backdrop. In conclusion, I think that Gibson Hamlet would do beter with an older audience and Hamlet Act 3 would do best with a younger.
