Answer:

G=  400

S= 280

Explanation:

Giving the following information:

GDP in this country is $1,680 million.

National Income Account Value (Millions of dollars)

Government Purchases ( G ) =?

Taxes minus Transfer Payments ( T )= 360

Consumption ( C )= 1,000

Investment ( I )= 280

The formula to calculate GDP is:

GDP=C+I+G+/-NX

GDP= C+I+G

1680= 1000 + 280 + G

G= 1680 - 1000 - 280= 400

Savings= (Y-T-C) + (T-G)

S= (1680 - 360 - 1000) + (360 - 400)

S= 280

Granite Construction Company is considering selling excess machinery with a book value of $175,000 (original cost of $315,000 le
aleksandr82 [10.1K]

Answer:

Sell option is preferred.

Explanation:

The decision whether to lease out the machinery that is surplus to requirement or sell outrightly is dependent on the differential analysis performed below.In the analysis I have compared the profits under each option in order to guide the final decision:

Differential analysis as at 7th November(Sale or lease option)

                                                                         Sell option              lease option

revenue   from sell/lease option                        $180,000                 $200,000

Brokerage commission(5%*$180,000)                 ($9,000)                        -

costs of repairs,insurance and property taxes          -                        ($34,400)

Profits                                                                        $171,000              $165,600

The sell option provides $5400($171,000-$165,600) than the lease option,hence the sell option is preferred.

One would have expect that the lease option since it has more revenue to preferable but the costs of repairs,insurance and property taxes were also on the high side

Unrealized holding gains or losses which are recognized in income are from debt securities classified as
Serga [27]

Answer:

Trading.

Explanation:

In Business management, when a gain or loss is realized, it simply means that the owner of stock or other securities has sold it. Thus, these unrealized gains or losses are generally referred to as paper profits or losses.

Basically, when the value of a stock being bought by an investor reduces (falls) while he or she is yet to sell it, it is known as an unrealized loss.

However, when the value of a stock being bought by an investor rises (increases) while he or she is yet to sell it, it is known as an unrealized gains.

Hence, unrealized holding gains or losses which are recognized in income are from debt securities classified as trading.

As production increases:
Margaret [11]

Answer:

Correct option is (D)

Explanation:

Total cost is a sum of Total fixed cost and total variable cost. Fixed cost does not change with the change in number of units produced. Variable cost on the other hand increases with the increase in production.

So, initially fixed cost is higher than variable cost at a certain production level. As production increases, fixed cost is spread across units and per unit fixed cost falls but variable cost keeps increasing, so total cost keep increasing with increase in production because of variable cost component.
