The perimeter is the sum of all sides of the triangle. Since the triangle is not straight you must use the distance formula which is basically the Pythagorean theorem but used coordinates to solve for the sides.

I like to just use the Pythagorean theorem instead of coordinates. If you draw right triangles on the one in the picture with hypotenuse as the unknown sides.

3^2 + 5^2 = (AB)^2
9 + 25 = 34
sqrt(34) = AB

1^2 + 2^2 = (AC)^2
1 + 4 = 5
sqrt(5) = AC

3^2 + 4^2 = (BC)^2
9 + 16 = 25
sqrt(25) = 5 = BC

add up sides
perimeter = sqrt(34) + sqrt(5) + 5

Graph the line with a slope of 1 passing through the point
(1,-5).
Rom4ik [11]

For this case we have that by definition, the equation of a line in the slope-intersection form is given by:

Where:

m: Is the slope

b: Is the cut-off point with the y axis

According to the data of the statement we have to:

m = 1

Then, the equation is of the form:

y = x + b

We substitute the point (1, -5) and find "b":

-5 = 1 + b\\-5-1 =b\\-6 = b

Thus, the equation is of the form:

y = x-6

To graph we substitute the points on the coordinate axis:

(x, y) :( 0, -6)

For x = 2:y = 2-6 = -4 (2, -4)

For x = 10: y = 10-6 = 4 (10,4)

Answer:

y = x-6

X°,Y° and Z° are three angles lying on a straight line.If X°=2y° and Z°=3y°,find he value of y
maks197457 [2]
Answer:  " y = 30° "  .
_____________________________________
Note: The sum total of the measure of all angles lying on a straight
             line is 180°.

So;   x + y + z = 180 .

Given:    x =  2y ;
              z  =  3y ;
__________________
Find the value of:  " y " ;
_______________________
Since:   x + y + z = 180 ;

Substitute:  "2y"  for  "x" ;
          and:  "3y"  for  "z" ;
_______________________
       2y + y + 3y = 180 ;

                6y = 180 ;
______________________
  Divide EACH SIDE of the equation by "6" ; to isolate "y" on one side of the equation; and to solve for "y" ;
___________________________
       6y/ 6 = 180 / 6 ;

             y = 30 ;
____________________________
Let us check our work;
____________________________
     2y + y + 3y = 180 ;

Substitute our solved value: "30" ; for "y" ; in the equation; to see if the equation holds true:
____________________________
  2(30)  +  30  +  3(30)  =?  180 ?
____________________________
   60  +  30  +  90  = ?  180 ?
____________________________
             90  +  90  = ?  180 ?  Yes!
