What word does Jefferson use to describe rights from god that cannot be taken away
victus00 [196]

Answer:  INALIENABLE  (or UNALIENABLE)

Notes/explanation:

The final version of the Declaration of Independence uses the spelling unalienable.  That was the copy of the document as transcribed by John Adams, which was used for printed copies to be made.  Thomas Jefferson's original draft used the spelling inalienable.  The two variations of the word were both in use at the time in the 18th century.  Either way, the word means something that cannot be made alien to you -- in other words, something that cannot be taken away from you.

Why did Ashoka the Great turn to the teachings of the Buddha?
Svetllana [295]

Ashoka turned to the teachings of the Buddha because he felt that the life he was living wasn't right. He thought that there had to be some sort of divine power and/or eternal balance and harmony with nature. That was when he adopted the ideas of Buddhism, and practiced them. This consolidated his power by making him more respected.
