Two times the sum of a number and 9 is half the number
Pavel [41]

Answer:

Equation:

2(a+9) = a/2

Solve:

The umber is:

-12

Step-by-step explanation:

Equation:

2(a+9) = a/2

Solve:

2*a + 2*9 = a/2

2a + 18 = a/2

2a - a/2 = -18

4a/2 - a/2 = -18

3a/2 = -18

a = -18*2/3

a = -12

Check:

2(-12+9) = -12/2

2(-3) = -12/2 = -6

How do I solve this ?
guapka [62]

I don't like fractions, so I would turn 8/14 into a decimal.

Do 8 divided by 14 and you'll get .57

Now 8 + 0.57 = 8.57

The fraction form would be 60/7 and the mixed form would be 8 4/7

Why did Vespucci think that Lake Maracaibo looked like Venice, Italy?
rewona [7]
Americo Vespuccio thought that lake Maracaibo looked like Venice because the aborigines who lived in the area built their houses on water. The aboriginal people called Añú have a tradition of living on water in houses made of magle wood.
