Answer:

The degree measure of the diameter and the degree measure of the semicircle are the same. ... Both chords and diameters have two endpoints on a circle. Diameters must intersect the center of a circle.

The growth rate of the sunflower from day 14 to day
nata0808 [166]

Option B) h = 4.5t – 27 is the equation of the straight line that best models the height h, in centimeters, of the sunflower t days after it begins to grow.

From the above graph we can see that from day 14 to day 35 , it is a straight line.

And equation of a straight line is   y = mx + c  or   y – y1 = m(x – x1)

                               Where, m =slope of the line

                                             c = intercept

the equation can be rewritten as  h – h1  = m(t – t1)                    (1)

So, to find the equation of line , first we will calculate the slope of the line.

To find the slope : m = (h2 – h1 ) / (t2 – t1)                     (2)

From the graph and the table given, the coordinates (t1 , h1 ) and ( t2 , h2 ) are (14 , 36.6) and (35, 131) respectively.

Putting these values in equation (2), we get

                 m = (131 – 36.6)/(35 – 14)

                 m =  94.4/21

                 m  = 4.5

now to find the equation of line we put the values in equation (1), we get

h – 36.6 = 4.5(t – 14)

h – 36.6 = 4.5t – 63

h = 4.5t -63 + 36.6

h = 4.5t -27

Hence the equation of the line is ,   option B) h = 4.5t -27

a circuit overloads at 1800 watts of electricity you plug a microwave oven that uses 1100 watts into the circuit write and solve
Bogdan [553]
Let w be the additional watts you can add on the circuit.

1100 + w < 1800 (write the inequality)
-1100 -1100 ( - 1100 from each side)

w < 700 (simplify)

ANSWER:
You can add up to 700 watts to the circuit, which means that you can also plug in the clock radio and the blender.

LOOK BACK:
You can check that your answer is correct by adding the numbers of watts used by the microwave oven, clock radio and blender.

1100 + 50 + 300 = 1450

The circuit will not overload because the total wattage is less than 1800 watts.

Find each of the following for
KATRIN_1 [288]
<h2>Answer:</h2>

(a)

          f(x+ h)=8x+8h+3

(b)

            f(x+ h)-f(x)=8h

(c)

             \dfrac{f(x+ h)-f(x)}{h}=8

<h2>Step-by-step explanation:</h2>

We are given a function f(x) as :

              f(x)=8x+3

(a)

           f(x+ h)

We will substitute (x+h) in place of x in the function f(x) as follows:

f(x+h)=8(x+h)+3\\\\i.e.\\\\f(x+h)=8x+8h+3

(b)

       f(x+ h)-f(x)

Now on subtracting the f(x+h) obtained in part (a) with the function f(x) we have:

f(x+h)-f(x)=8x+8h+3-(8x+3)\\\\i.e.\\\\f(x+h)-f(x)=8x+8h+3-8x-3\\\\i.e.\\\\f(x+h)-f(x)=8h

(c)

           \dfrac{f(x+ h)-f(x)}{h}

In this part we will divide the numerator expression which is obtained in part (b) by h to get:

           \dfrac{f(x+ h)-f(x)}{h}=\dfrac{8h}{h}\\\\i.e.\\\\\dfrac{f(x+h)-f(x)}{h}=8

Let f(x)=(18)3^x. find the equation of the line between the points (-2,f(-2)) and (1,f(1))
horsena [70]

\text{Given that,} \\\\f(x) = 18 \cdot 3^x \\\\f(-2) = 18 \cdot 3^{-2} = 2\\\\f(1) = 18 \cdot 3^1 = 54\\ \\\text{So,}~ (x_1,y_1) = (x_1, f(-2)) = (-2,2) ~\text{and}~ (x_2,y_2) = (x_2, f(1)) = (1,54)\\ \\\text{Slope,}~ m = \dfrac{y_2 -y_1}{x_2 -x_1} = \dfrac{54-2}{1+2} = \dfrac{52}3 \\\\

\text{Equation of line,}\\\\~~~~~~~y - y_1 = m (x-x_1)\\\\\\\implies y-2 = \dfrac{52}3(x+2)~~~~~~~~~~~;[\text{Point-Slope form.]} \\\\\\\implies y-2 = \dfrac{52}3x + \dfrac{104}3\\\\\\\implies y = \dfrac{52}{3}x + \dfrac{104} 3 +2\\\\\\\implies y = \dfrac{52}3 x +\dfrac{110}3 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~;[\text{Slope -Intercept form}]
