For Value of x,

We know, 360 = 2( a+b)

180 = 4x+2x-6

180 = 6x-6

6x = 186

x = 186/6

x = 31

For value of y:

It would be equal,

5y = y+8

5y-y = 8

4y = 8

y = 2

SO, OPTION A IS YOUR ANSWER

So here is how we got the values of x and y based on the given figure above. But before that, take note that in a parallelogram, has opposite angles that are equal and all 4 angles add up to 360. In addition, the parallel sides have equal measurements as well.
So first, let us solve for x:
(4x)(2) + (2x - 6)(2) = 360
8x +4x -12 = 360
12x = 360 +12
12x = 372
x= 31
Next is solve for y:
y + 8 = 5y
y - 5y = -8
-4y = -8
y = 2
Therefore, the value of x is 31 and y is 12. So the answer is option A. Hope this answer helps.

Taymoor is going to apply for two different jobs. He estimates that
Ostrovityanka [42]

Answer:

0.58

Step-by-step explanation:

The probability that Taymoor gets at least one job is a sum of probabilities of 3 events:

1.He gets Job 1 (P(1.yes)= 0.3) and doesn't get the job 2 (P(2.not)=1-0.4=0.6)

P(1.yes,2.not)=P(1.yes)*P(2.not)=0.3*0.6=0.18

2. He doesn't get job1 (P(1.not)= 1-03=0.7 ) and gets job2(P2.yes)=0.4)

P(1.not,2.yes)=P(1.not)*P(2.yes)=0.7*0.4=0.28

3. He gets  job1 (P(1.yes)= 0.3 ) and gets job2(P2.yes)=0.4)

P(1.yes,2.yes)=P(1.yes)*P(2.yes)=0.3*0.4=0.12

The resulted probability is P(gets job)= 0.18+0.28+0.12=0.58

Solve 6x+9-16x=-21 Could you show your work please? That would be greatly appreciated.
PIT_PIT [208]
Combine like terms

6x + 9 - 16x
6x - 16x = -10x

-10x + 9 = -21
        -9       -9

-10x = -30
-10x/-10 = -30/-10
x = 3

Answer: x = 3

What is an equation of the line that passes through the point (8,-4) and is parallel to the line x-4y=12?
lesantik [10]

Answer:

x - 4y =12 / -x

-4y = 12 - x // -4

y = -3  1/4 *x

a = 1/4

f(8) = -4

-4 = a*8 + b

-4 = 2 + b / -2

b = -6

so

y = 1/4 *a -6
